The 150th Open Championship at the Home of Golf, St Andrew’s. It’s a fairytale. Tuesday continued like Monday, very firm and dry conditions.

Monday was all about the Celebration of Champions, which brought out the best in the game and Tuesday is the Champions Dinner, the coming together of the Open champions of yesteryear. This is something that Tiger is certainly looking forward to.

Tiger has been soaking it all up in the prep, playing a significant number of practice rounds, both on “tour” with the boys in Ireland and then at St Andrew’s. The man is definitely here to win and is looking good.

majorpunter Favorites
There are definite favourites, especially being St Andrew’s and her history. The 2010 and 2015 Leaderboards are not the worst places for inspiration - either for names or styles.

Go make those PICKS!

The WORLD RANKINGS have been flattening with a clustering of top players around similar scores. The top 10 is a real mix of hopefuls and major legends. This can change quickly. Rors has certainly climbed the rankings aggressively, is the fan’s favourite and gave a real dispaly on the range!

Xander continues to be the name on everyone’s lips, even before the win at the Scottish Open. Many tipsters picked him last week and then he might have peaked too early?

Jordan is feeling very positive heading into the Open, has shown glimpses of form, plus has such a great feel for the history of the game.

But what of the sleeper picks?

Fleetwood is a ball striking machine and has been quiet for a few years, but has found form again. He loves a Links and loves a little wind. Scotty is another who is trendy nicely.

Open Championship Pairings
The Tee times were released today and the boys from LIV might be surprisingly pleased. Firstly, they are included, unlike Greg, and secondly their tee times are not all slammed in at the 630am slot!

The best pairings they are not, with the best of the best paired amongst each other, with Fitzy & Max getting the diamond with The Big Cat!

Some of the tastier ones include:
Major hopefuls 1: Cambo, Power & BK
RyderCup: Moli, Rosie & Tommy
Open Champs: Collin, Rors & Xander
Major hopefuls 2: Lowry, JT & Viktor
Masters Champs: DJ, Scotty & Leish
The no 1: Scottie, Jaoquin & Tyrrell
GOAT: Tiger, Fitzy & Max
US Open Champs: Jordan, Rahmbo & HV3

There are a few other fun pairings with a mix of mini battles scattered throughout.

Your Picks
Outside Mr No 1, the world rankings are tight and have been tight for a while. Fitzy’s major win vaulted him into the top 10 while Jordan can’t seem to lock it inside the top 10 for any extended period.

The Top bucket: Its packed to the brim with power and expectation, but mainly major newbies chasing their first hurrah. Cantplay, Xander, Cambo & Viktor are all seeking number 1 – who will get there first? Otherwise, surely time for Rors?

The 2nd bucket: Too many big calls in this space, only 2 choices in this group. Major winners include Jordan, Hideki, DJ, BK, Lowry, Louis & The Bulk. It’s a tough juggle. Dark horse Fleetwood?

The 3rd Bucket: The upstarts or the over 40s? Experience at The Open is a valuable commodity and not many include a trip to St Andrew’s, but who firs that bill: Rosie, Leish & Scotty.
