2022 US Open: Brookline is ready. Lets Play

With less than 24 hours to go before the first tee time of the US Open, the course is in fine shape, players are prepped and like us, eager to get things cracking on the challenging course. That first tee shot belongs to a group of tense, nervous qualifiers (including an amateur) who will get us going at 6:45am local time.

Its time to get your PICKS in!



The US Open is a truly wide open field, with many spots available for qualifiers. This includes 57 year old Fran Quinn, who is living his best life, making his US Open debut in his home town!



The real interest is on the business end of the board - all the big names fighting for the limelight.
Rumours are running hot on Jordan being forced to withdraw. Nothing confirmed yet, keep an eye on US Open.
On the balance, Rory, JT, Scottie, Rahmbo, BK. Pick a name and take a number. All of these are capable of taking it down the stretch and picking up another major. Though JT is getting lots of love with his impressive, all round numbers this year.



YOUR PICKS
Prep time was hopefully put to good use, but now is the time to commit, visualise and execute. Make those PICKS and make them count.

Top Bucket: The big boys are all feeling strong and eager to make a firm point. All the interviews have been painting a picture of legacy and status, but their can be only 1 major winner come Sunday! The course is going to play like a classic major, testing every facet of your game. Make this pick count! What about Viktor or Burns from left field for a 1st major? Both cannot be written off.

2nd Bucket: Last winner of the US Open outside the top 30 was GMac in 2010 so this pick is key. Serious local talent in the mix here and in form too: Billy Ho, Zala, Phenom, Max, Berger, but some international flavour might be the key: Joaquin, Fitzy, Sungjae.



3rd Bucket: Into the 40-somethings, but there is little experience of playing at Brookline. Instead that rests with the 20-somethings who duelled it out in the US Amateur. Nevertheless, there will be plenty of interest in former champ JRose, who has had a few close calls at the US Open.
