2024 Masters: Time for the last 9 holes

Posted on April 10, 2024 alt_text

It’s Spring time, the 2nd weekend of April. Welcome to Wednesday at The Masters. With around 24 hours to go before the first tee time of The Masters, the course is in fine shape.

Don’t panic and get on with those PICKS.

We know the players are prepped and like us, eager to get things cracking on Augusta National, in all her fine colour and glory.

The first tee shot belongs to South African EvR and then the power hitting Knapp who is making his debut at Augusta. They will lead us off at 8:00am local time, just after we have the ceremonial opening tee shots from a crew led by the Golden Bear.

The 2024 Champions Dinner hosted by Rahmbo was a Spanish Fiesta with the full selection of guests as you would expect. The food on offer was very out there, but worth a try for those brave enough.

The most exclusive party and group, who will break into this club in 2024?

The Masters has a few spots for amateurs and for them the moment will be unique - the biggest day of their careers thus far and they all stay on site.

The Amateurs also enjoyed their own special dinner on the Monday evening and the reality for this year’s inhabitants at Butlers Cabin, is that all are ducking under the low, old doors.

A total of 5 amateurs will be competing this week, but excluding a 6th who recently turned Pro, Nick Dunlap after his sensational debut win as an Amateur on the PGA Tour.

YOUR PICKS
Prep time was hopefully put to good use, but now is the time to commit, visualise and execute. Make those PICKS.

Top Bucket: The top 10 is generally tight though Scottie is leading on so many levels except the major tally. Its tough to defend so does that rule out Rahmbo or just a notch to match history and join an elite club? Any bets on Hatton who has stated that he has no joy in being at Augusta? Grand Slam talk for Rory?

Masters24 Rory

2nd Bucket: Have to like chances of Hideki from this bunch, but no one would begrudge tommy finally getting a major victory under his belt.

3rd Bucket: A few veterans who know their way around Augusta like Scotty & JDay who are not quite at their best but nothing like a Pimento Cheese to change all of that.

Bottom Bucket: Some form issues for these stars, but class is still there. They know their way around Augusta with recent success for JRose, DJ, Sergio & The Feed but also recent major winners in BK & Cambo. Plenty to chew on!

With all this in mind, it's time to focus on your PICKS.

If you are still struggling, sneak a look at the leaderboard of the 2022 Masters or the 2023 Masters leaderboards.

Also check out the trends on DATA GOLF RANKINGS and their rankings which also drives the buckets for your PICKS.
