Time for the 2nd major of the year. Welcome to the 2024 PGA Champs at Valhalla.
With less than 24 hours to go before the first tee time of the major, the course is in fine shape, the rough is up, it’s getting warm and the gossip is growing by the bucket load.
We know the players are prepped and like us, eager to get things cracking on Valhalla in the hunt for the Wanamaker.
Don’t panic and get on with those PICKS.
The first tee time is a cracker led by former world no 1 and Europe’s victorious Ryder Cup skipper in Loooooooke but ably supported by 2003 champ Micheel and of course 2023 sensation Blockie, who is rumoured to have the first tee shot! They will lead us off at 7:15am local time.
YOUR PICKS
Prep time was hopefully put to good use, but now is the time to commit, visualise and execute. Make those PICKS.
The Top bucket: The stats in majors since 2020 point to any one of Scottie, Rory, or Rahmbo who are significantly better. But its scary how much better Scottie is, 73 shots under par vs next best on 34 under! Hard to bet against that man, unless its Valhalla where someone else won in 2014…
The 2nd bucket: Tough to pick just 1 of these and lots of smack talk is beefing up Windie & The Bulk - will you dare to pick an untested major hopeful like Tommy & Max.
The 3rd Bucket: Two picks here, don’t waste them. Plenty of top players to choose from, some might be a little rusty though JDay charged at Quail Hollow this past weekend with his insane short game. Another pick might be a ball striker to deal with famed length and rough of Valhalla such as Other Cam. Don’t forget the real rusty in Grand Slam chaser Jordan.
The Bottom Bucket: avoid the club pro’s and you should be fine? The Bottom won’t win they say, until BK popped into the mix.
With all this in mind, it's time to focus on your PICKS.
