2025 Masters: Time for the last 9 holes

Posted on April 9, 2025 alt_text

It’s Spring time, the 2nd weekend of April. Welcome to Wednesday at The Masters.

With around 24 hours to go before the first tee time of The Masters, the course is in fine shape. We know the players are prepped and like us, eager to get things cracking on Augusta National, in all her fine colour and glory.

Don’t panic and get on with those PICKS.

Masters Reminder Pic1

The first tee shot belongs to a pair of Americans Davis Riley & Kezzire and then the one of the history making Hojgaard twins. They will lead us off at 7:40am local time.

The 2025 Champions Dinner hosted by Scottie was a spicy Texan affair with the full selection of guests as you would expect.

The most exclusive party and group, who will break into this club in 2025?

The Masters has a few spots for amateurs and for them the moment will be unique - the biggest day of their careers thus far and they all stay on site.

The Amateurs also enjoyed their own special dinner on the Monday evening and the reality for this year’s inhabitants at Butlers Cabin, is that all are ducking under the low, old doors.

A total of 5 amateurs will battle it out for the honours, representing 4 different countries including the Cayman Islands!

Your Picks
Prep time was hopefully put to good use, but now is the time to commit, visualise and execute. Make those PICKS.

Top Bucket: The top 10 is generally tight and defending champs have such a bad record at Augusta, so can you back Scottie, who just holds the air of the room at his mercy. Can Rory beat him in a slugfest? Rahmbo did win, beating a few Alphas on route, perhaps Magnolia Lane can rekindle his fire.

2nd Bucket: Have to like chances of the in-form Jaco or the sweet smiling (and swinging) Swede, who seemed unflappable for long periods in 2024.

3rd Bucket: A real mixed bag, some with a lack of form and touch, others like MinWoo are winners in 2025 and with good Augusta history to back them up too. A few veterans who know their way around Augusta like BK & JDay who are not quite at their best but nothing like a Pimento Cheese to change all of that.

Bottom Bucket: Some form issues for these stars, but class is still there. They know their way around Augusta with recent success for JRose, DJ, Lefty, Serg & The Feed but also recent major winners in Harman & Cambo. Plenty to chew on!

With all this in mind, it's time to focus on your PICKS.

If you are still struggling, sneak a look at the leaderboard of the 2023 Masters or the 2024 Masters leaderboards.

Take on your mates
Time to get stuck into your majorpunter PICKS. As always, the more the merrier so send this on to the other golf fans in your life to get them involved and swell the winner's purse!

Remember we have Side Pots for punters to directly compete with each other’s friends, families, colleagues, local clubs, whatever you feel necessary. Give it a try and maybe get some side wagers going!

LIVE SCORING will be up and running on the site for all punters to see where they stand in real time. We are constantly looking to improve so keep us updated on some new trends that we might have missed.
Reminder of the majorpunter rules, with a no-subs option, but having 6 picks including 2 wildcards. See the RULES on the site, which also include a no-sympathy approach to players withdrawing once the first tee shot has gone off.

Here’s looking forward to an action-packed Masters, with lots of trials and tribulations, joy and despair, come wind, rain or shine.

Remember to ensure your teams are entered and paid before the first tee off time wherever you might be around the globe.
