Day 2 at the 2025 PGA Champs

Friday at The PGA Champs

The Major finally woke up and things got moving, with a drier course, albeit only slightly. Sensational moments were scattered throughout the day and the day ended with Jonny Vegas still out in front.

Vegas was steady, while the tidal wave developed behind. The Boys were on a charge and its stacked up behind, but all eyes will be on Scottie who is sitting casually 3 shots back.

Vegas had his moments of good fortune, ricocheted off a rake on 16th as he entered the Green Mile. The charging pack were coming in hot and it will be interesting to see who can sustain it. There is a lack of major credentials littered on the top but Max & Si-Woo will be keen to change that storyline.

Round of the Day
Best of the day was a 64 card by Si-Woo & Max who both on the front page of the leaderboard.

Shot of the Day
There was a flurry on chip-ins, long-puts, a near Albatross and near bunker hole-outs until another ACE was nailed, this time by Si-Woo, hitting timber into the long 6th hole. It goes down as the longest hole-in-one in major championship history!

Performance of the Day
How do you beat Si-Woo & Max, who both played consistently and had heroic moments on route to matching 64s. Special mention for the smooth swinging Frenchman, Pavon who had a bogey free 65 and is just 2 back heading into Moving Day.

The Movers
It's Moving Day up ahead and the conditions are expected to remain gettable so expect a big charge from multiple angles.

A few of those who just snuck will get early starts and and an early charge at Quail Hollow. X & Rory both snuck in on the number so expect fireworks from this duo.

Taking the weekend off
The Cutline fell at 1 over and some big names have not made the grade, many of whom were severely hyped and picked by punters across the globe. JT, Jordan, BK, JRose, Shane & Aberg all fell short of the number.

Reminder of the Stats
Bucket 1: Rory 43%, Scottie 32%, Bulk 17% & JT 5% (2 under par, 1 MC)
Bucket 2: Aberg 35%, Lowry 26%, Corey 17% & Sepp 10% (1 under par, 3 MC!)
Bucket 3: Hov 21%, Jordan 20%, JDay 14% & Im 12% (1 under par, 3 MC!)
Bucket 4: BK 16%, Cambo 9%, Burmy 9% & Min Woo 8% (4 MC!)

Thats some really bad picking!

There were some good scores for some of the punters, but CUTs are littered across the teams on the LEADERBOARD.

Loose Balls stole a march on the challengers with a 5 shot lead headed into the weekend, over the Gunslingers who will be relying on Si-Woo to continue his charge.

PokeyAU2 & Finnorn sit a further 2 shots back, but 7 shots is nothing out there.

Moving day will not be a normal scoring day, a grind lies ahead. Its still anyone’s major, much angst remains for the leaders so strap in. The chase is on.

The bottomboard is a mess, so many teams only have 1 player left!

Rory’s Playground is sitting dead last by 1 shot headed into Moving Day.

36 holes to go, Quail Hollow will be an exciting place over the weekend for what remains, definitely more doubles than eagles but exciting nonetheless.
