Sunday started as a blustery affair with a cold wind off the Firth of Clyde. The ball was not travelling far, scoring was tough and forecasts were filled with rain and wind!
But the conditions drifted, players started aggressively, picking off birdies where they could. A hot start was essential, but not so much for the eventual Champion Golfer of the Year, X, who started slow and only managed a birdie on the 6th and again on the 7th.
The back 9 was started with the only birdie on the treacherous 11th, before closing with 3 other birdies for a bogey free 65. Outstanding golf from an outstanding champion.
There was plenty of jostling at the top of the leaderboard all day, often with 3 players tied for the lead. All the challengers made it into the great championship that it is. X was chased hard by all of Thrissie, JRose & BillyHo, at different times.
Ultimately, down the stretch, X came good, making putts after great iron play. He had all the shots, from bumps to lobs, to bombs. From a 125 yard 9 iron to 180 yard wedge on 11. Its his 4th top 10 in the majors this year with 2 sensational wins. Player of the Year stuff.
Round of the Day
There was 1 round of 65 with the next best a round of 67! And thats what it takes to be a champion. Bogey free 65 by X was the only way he was able to win, tying the best of the week too, in the most intense pressure.
Shot of the Day
He never won, but the bump-n-run for birdie on 3 for Thrissie was spectacular. All the pressure on him, faced with few options and a need for a birdie, he delivered.
Performance of the Day
Foxy carded an early 67 when the scoring was the toughest. This vaulted him high up the leaderboard, climbing 45 places!
The Leaders
The Chasers
The top 10s managed to lock their tickets into next year’s Open Championship which for Scotty, Brown & JRose is gold, considering they qualified this year.

Final Day Sunday was filled with excitement, a few birdies and a sprinkling of eagles, but many a run away leader and winner!
Tomoose & Friends set up early in the week and then won running away. It was 1 way traffic, with dominant performance.
DegenParty3 competed throughout the week, but was never able to claim the lead with 2 other teams from the same punter just out of the money. redhotchili & RLW-4 had good Sundays to post top 4s and get into the prizes!
It was a special weekend at Royal Troon, tough to get it home, but ultimately a worthy winner came to the fore.
