Sunday was a hot, frenzied affair. There were bogeys, birdies and groans galore - a firm major that tested every facet of the players games.
There was plenty of jostling at the top of the leaderboard and it needed a superb up-and-down on 18 for The Bulk to bring it home.
The 18th was drama laden with Rory missing a short putt for par, which would have extended the major into a playoff after missing a short putt on 16 too. Rory will be left wondering how can he can ever get it done after sitting on a 2 shot lead and 8 under through 14 holes.
The Bulk was spraying it off the tee all day, with his 1st birdie of the day coming at the 10th hole, but he made a few sensational par saves including a par on 18 which ultimately was the difference after 72 holes of attritional play.
Rory got the engine going early with a birdie on the 1st and his putter was hot through 14 holes till the wheel came off. He missed a 3 foot putt on 16 and 18, his first short misses all year!
A superb win for The Bulk, landing a 2nd major and US Open, which leaves him in some pretty special territory of US Open wins (2) before his 30s, with those like Jack, Tiger, Ernie & BK.
Round of the Day
There were 3 rounds of 67, with all 3 locking top 10s as a result. The Phenom included a birdie on 18 and an eagle on the 5th.
Shot of the Day
A Par to win from the sand? 55 yard sand save? Thats hard to beat! The Bulk take a bow for this SHOT!
Performance of the Day
Mr Burns carried on his good play, some his forgetful 1st round. He also signed for a 67 for a back door T9.

Harmie will be defending and the last major winner at famed Royal Troon was Stenner after a classic duel with Lefty in 2016.
