From a tightly packed leaderboard on Sunday, it was Wyndie who held his nerve to claim a second US Open title. Having started the day with a commanding lead, he was pushed all the way before producing clutch shots when they mattered most to finish one clear of the chasing pack.
The challengers kept coming throughout the final round, but whenever the pressure mounted, Wyndie responded with the composure of a proven major champion - superb up and down on the last, clutch birdie from the thick stuff on 16, plus an array of saves earlier on.
Round of the Day
Mr Burns produced the round of the day with a superb 67, piling the pressure on the leaders after an early charge. He had a chance at a birdie on both 17 and 18, narrowly missing on both times. His putter going cold, after a big birdie on 16. Behind him, several players threatened to make a run, but none could match Wyndie's resilience over the closing stretch.
Performance of the Day
Winning the US Open is never easy, but doing so after seeing a six-shot overnight lead shrink to a single shot makes it even more impressive. Wyndie delivered when it mattered most, producing key par saves and composed approach play over the closing holes to secure his second national championship.
His calmness under pressure was the defining story of the week, proving once again why he thrives on golf's biggest stages.
The Leaders
The championship produced another elite leaderboard, with Mr Burns finishing runner-up after his Sunday charge, while Tom Kim rounded out the top three. World No. 1 Scottie mounted a late challenge but ultimately fell just short in his bid to complete the career Grand Slam.

At the bottom, there were some big numbers for a few punters.
MZeezy held the fort at the bottom, taking the wooden spoon, but only 1 shot back from next worst Fitzmagic3 and Little General.
We are looking forward to the next major, The Open at the famed Royal Birkdale. Scottie will be defending and its likely to be sensational - firm, fast and a little breezy.
Last winner at Birkdale was Jordan way back in 2017 and lets not forget who calls Birkdale home, that would be Tommylad of course!
