Moving Day at The PGA Champs

A delayed start, mud balls and large wind gusts were the order of the day. This destroyed quite a few hopes for the chasers and allowed a small group of the cream to rise to the top.

Scottie stood up, just as the day had shifted on launching his attack with 5 holes to go, including creating distance with 2nd, thanks for birdies on 16 and 17 where others, including The Bulk had made bogeys and doubles.

Noren is the closest competitor, enjoying his return to form and fitness with a sparking 66, but is 3 shots back. He will still be eying down the prize and hopes of a major victory.

PGA25 D3 Pic2
Scottie was sensational, every step seemed planned and perfected, especially considering he has never played at Quail Hollow before. He was the favourite for a reason though and stands on the cusp of history.

There are some brilliant potentials heading into Final Day Sunday, though only 1 really that likely:
Scottie: major no 3 and first one outside Augusta
Noren: 1st major win
JT and Davis: 1st major win

Round of the Day
By the close of Saturday, Moving Day, players had gone backwards more than forwards. But some players stood out, creating a big shift in the proceedings. An under pressure 67 from Rahmbo had the crowds talking until Scottie responded with his closing stretch for a 65!

Shot of the Day
A tap-in eagle is always going to steal the plaudits and to come on a par 4, even better. Scottie rifled in his 3-wood, with water on the left and walked off with eagle, the lead and 1 hand on the Wanamaker even with 18 holes to go.

Performance of the Day
Noren came from a long way back, both on the day and in his career. This course is not meant to favour him and his style, but here he sits ready to compete on Sunday. Finishing with birdies on 17 and 18, will give him hope, but little else.

The good scores continued for punters, climbing the board late in the day. A late flurry of birdies, vaulted the teams on the LEADERBOARD.

Gunslingers stretched their legs and are sitting on a 5 shot lead heading into Sunday, despite only having 5 players to lean on.

PokeyAU2 sits solidly in 2nd, 3 shots clear of Puttiater, who both will need a strong chase to close down the lead.

Lots to play for, 18 holes is plenty of time to make that move.

The bottomboard is a mess, so many teams only have 1 player left or less!

tristan Kempenaar is sitting dead last by 1 shot headed into Sunday with nothing stopping his slide.

Only 18 holes to go, time is running out.
