Moving Day at The US Open
A fearsome test awaited and delivered. This destroyed quite a few hopes for the chasers and allowed a small group of the cream to rise to the top.
Scotty stood up, with much talk about his game was steadily moving forward, a little noise but just a ball striking machine. 3 birdies on the back 9 was very tasty.
He sits 1 behind the 3rd round leader who rallied late with a birdie on 17. Burns looks the part and will be a tough man to beat.
There are some brilliant potentials heading into Final Day Sunday:
Burns: 1st major win
Scotty: 2nd major, 12 years after his first for a man deep into his 40s
Spaun: 1st major win
Round of the Day
Moving Day certainly it was, tough to move up, with a lack of birdies on offer, but plenty to be excited about nonetheless.
Ortiz & Scotty showed their colours and stepped up to the plate, delivering superb 67s. Both are in the mix on Sunday.
Shot of the Day
Anyone of his classic driver swings can make this list but pick any of his sleek wedges too. Scotty was on fire.
Performance of the Day
Ortiz had to sign his card with a closing bogey, he could have easily had a 66. The youngster finally putting together the round that he know he can do.
